Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti Resigns

ROME, mba-sensational.com - Prime Minister (PM) Italy Mario Monti finally resigned from office, Friday, December 21, 2012. Monti presented the resignation to the President Giorgio Napolitano shortly after parliament approved the 2013 budget.
Earlier, Monti took office for 13 months, it has signaled back as PDL party led by former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi revoke its support to the government.
Monti resignation opportunities convening national elections. Quoted by Reuters, President Giorgio Napolitano is expected to dissolve parliament in the next few days, and has indicated to convening a general election on February 24, 2013.
Napolitano unexpectedly also said it will consult with political leaders of all elements of the party on Saturday to discuss the next steps. While Monti will continue to serve in the capacity as caretaker.
On Thursday, Berlusconi expressed his party withdrew support to the government. He said the budget austerity policies do harm Monti Italy. Earlier, President of AC Milan soccer club said it would re-run the election the Prime Minister next year.
Monti took over as prime minister in November last year. He held that position through an election. He formed a government from technocrats. Monti then apply the tax hikes and austerity policies to control the Italian economy.
